It’s no secret that music lovers tend to also be attracted to other means of creative expression. Boca de Oro: Art & Literature Fringe Festival, an event to be held on March 4th in Downtown Santa Ana, is sure to appeal.  Free. All Ages. Open to All.

Everyone is welcome, and the afternoon will feature free interactive workshops, panels, and open mics featuring authors, poets, singer-songwriters, rappers, and even graffiti artists. Activities for younger people and children will also be available.

Boca de Oro, of course, means “Mouth of Gold,” and this Orange County, California festival might inspire attendants to develop their own verbal skills. They are encouraged to watch and listen during the event, but also to speak and sing with abandon. The “Words Unleashed” workshops shall provide youth of all ages a platform to explore their individual creativity through words.

A SAUSD student speech showcase of extremely well-thought-out speeches, titled “The Art of Persuasion” is not to be missed either. Santa Ana youth will present arguments on interesting topics including current events. “Memories of Migration,” a variety of visual art and audio displays, also promises to be exciting.
