Midnight Generation’s recent global impact has been remarkable. Thanks to their single “Don’t Wait up”, released in early February, the Chihuahua band’s music has reached the farthest corners of the planet, breaking all borders and paradigms for a Mexican band performing their songs in English. They have just been invited to be part of the line up of the most important festivals around the world, where they will take their music to festivals such as Latitude (Suffolk/UK), Trevare Fest (Norway), Lollapalooza (Chicago), Electric Forest (Michigan), Outside Lands (San Francisco) and many more to be announced.
The band’s live performances have catapulted them to some of the most iconic stages in Mexico and Latin America and will soon take them worldwide. Led by vocalist Fernando Mares, the band has collaborated with and opened for some of the most recognized artists, such as ZHU, Polo & Pan, Sticky Fingers, and Chromeo, further solidifying their position as a rising star in the international music scene.
“Tender Love,” their new production, is an exquisite compilation of eleven songs in which the band returns to what they love most: hearing and feeling the music they listened to as children. Artists who inspired them, such as Chic, Prince, Electric Light Orchestra, or Barry White, gave birth to these new compositions, which combine funk synthesizers, guitar riffs, catchy vocals, and their distinctive talk box.
With songs like “Energy,” “Found You,” or “Teacher” (in collaboration with the German band Zimmer 90), Midnight Generation takes us back to the dance floors of Studio 70 in NY with electronic tints, making each song an anthem to Dance. In this album, Midnight Generation brings us for the first time a song in Spanish: “Tan Cerca,” a single in which they explore the sound of their native language, which leaves us wanting more.
“We are delighted with the reception of this album. So far, the singles we have released have quadrupled their plays and gained many new fans worldwide. We believe that “Tender Love” will be a turning point in our musical career and that it will take us to a new place”, said Fernando Mares, leader of Midnight Generation, “every time the lyrics of the current songs go less and less into what is most important, that is why we wanted to put “Tender Love”, which means to love well and beautifully, with delicacy and pure love, that is why some of the songs on the album talk about love, but all of them, with pure intention, of true love”.
